An Introduction to Still-Life Drawing

Learn to create a realistic still -life drawing from real objects.

This full day workshop is designed for complete beginners but also caters for those with some drawing experience who wish to develop their skills further. You will learn how to group objects together and use light to create an interesting composition for your drawing. In the morning you will develop an accurate line drawing of your objects, the crucial foundation of a successful piece. In the afternoon you will explore tonal value and different mark-making techniques to add depth and texture to your drawing. Donna will be on hand to support you throughout the day and the techniques that you learn during the workshop will equip you to create your own drawings at home.

Donna Trim is a local Fine Artist and tutor who has been teaching drawing and painting for over 20 years. She is passionate about the benefits of drawing, particularly from life, to improve all aspects of one’s art practice. Her workshops are accessible to all, relaxed, friendly, supportive and always delivered with a great sense of humour.
