Thank you for your patience

We're SEW happy you're visiting

Join us for a Magical Sewing Retreat and reconnect with yourself!

Our small & intimate retreats offers you the chance to enjoy some uninterrupted sewing, and escape from the day to day. With experienced tutors and a group of people who share the love and passion for making as much as you do.

Invest in your own sewing and learning, reconnecting with yourself and other like minded people. In a place where we will share our knowledge and experiences to help and support each other. Allowing you to forge new friendships, deepen old ones and develop your own sewing skills too.

This retreat is suitable for all abilities. So if you are new to sewing there will be plenty of help on hand.

You can choose from one of our patterns to make up over the retreat or bring along you own projects too. Safe in the knowledge our expert tutors will be there to help and support you.

The SMS Fabric store and Haberdashery is literally a few paces from the Sewing Studio so any supplies you might need will be right to hand.

All accommodation is right next door in the gorgeous Hunting Lodge a Grade II listed 16th Century House beautifully and thoughtfully restored.

This is a chance to truly relax, enjoy yourself with friends while learning new skills and improving your sewing.

There's plenty of time to sew or maybe you just want a chance to catch up with some friends with a bit of sewing thrown in too. You will also be able to enjoy walks over the beautiful Warwickshire countryside, a dip in the wood-fired hot tub and the delicious food from The Makers' Kitchen, our onsite cafe.

What happens on retreat?

A typical itinerary for a Monday to Thursday retreat.

Monday evening

Evening arrival at The Hunting Lodge, after 4pm.  Allowing you to get settled and unload your sewing machine, if you've chosen to bring it.

A light supper will be prepared so we can all sit and eat together getting to know one another.

Tuesday

Meet us over in the Sewing Studio (literally next door to the Lodge) after breakfast and we can help you plan your sewing and work out what you want to achieve.  Investing in a bit of planning will help your time go much more smoothly. So whether it's making the perfectly fitting trousers, learning to put a concealed zip in or just having a go on an overlocker, we will be there to help you along the way while you sew at your own pace.

The Sewing Studio will be open until 5pm, then it's time to wind down with stroll around the fields or even a soak in the wood fired hot tub! At specific retreats there will be a gently restorative yoga and stretching session if you wish to join us.

Wednesday

After a delicious continental breakfast provided in the Hunting Lodge the Sewing Studio will be open from 9am to 5pm. You will have full use of the studio all day with sewing and fitting demonstrations throughout the day whenever you find them useful. Lunch will be provided again by The Makers' Kitchen and there will be plenty of tea, coffee and cakes to keep you sewing all day.

Again you can choose to relax in the hot tub, go for a walk across the fields or or just chill with a good book before dinner.  At specific retreats there will be a gently restorative yoga and stretching session if you wish to join us.

Thursday morning

Again the studio will be open after breakfast from 9am. You will need to check out of The Hunting Lodge by 10am, but if you leave your bags with us you can spend all morning continuing with sewing projects before lunch is served.

Then we can help you wind up your sewing projects and provide you with any information you need to carry on any sewing processes at home before we say goodbye at 4pm.
